Last night I had my 5th episode (in 17 years), 3 of them in the past 6 years, of vasovagel. This syndrome has not been diagnosed in me but given a maybe as to this is what you may have. Last night was the worse. Each time it was associated with me ingesting something. The first time was after eating lunch at Sizzler, the second time was after taking my morning medication for high blood pressure, the 3rd, after taking my morning medication along with MSM and vitamin C, the 4th time after drinking a glass of orange juice and eating a piece of toast while getting ready for work. The ambulance was called on this occasion and I was taken to the ER room and diagnosed with dehydration and stress. (I was in the process of buying a house). The 5th occurance (last night), I had just finished eating a hamburger, took a shower and went to bed. The stomach cramps hit me in bed. I went to the bathroom, moved my bowels, called for my husband because I knew I was passing out. He came to my aid and held me on the toilet. When I woke up it was because I was vomiting. After vomiting, I broke into a cold sweat and lost all sensation in my body. I could not move my limbs. After I guess was 1 or 2 minutes, I had to vomit again. After this I started to have feelings in my limbs again and my husband helped me to bed. He wated me to go to the hospital but because like you mentioned in your commentary, the physicians who see you tend to do nothing about it. This last episode was the scariest because I have never passed out to wake up because vomit is pouring from my mouth like the exorcist. I have never lost sensation in my limbs before although I always break into a cold sweat and have stomach cramps before passing out. Since this has been going on for 17 years with the last 3 episodes in the last 6 years, I've become more concerned. I drive for a living and I'm afraid this could happen while driving. Should I not eat before going to work or while at work? Should I quit my job? I'm lost for what to do.
