My Husband Ruined Our Dinner Out!!

Comments

We were at a restaurant eating dinner with another couple. Suddenly, my husband said he didn't feel good, became unresponsive and slumped in the chair. We called 911, he was on the floor by now, he came to and they pulled him back up in a chair, he passed out again. Blood pressure was dangerously low (he has high blood pressure, and is diabetic). Blood sugar was good. He passed out 2 more times in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Complained of severe pain in the back of his neck and uppper back/shoulders. Thought he had a heart attack or stroke. He was admitted, blood work done, xrays, then a stress test, and heart cath. All of that turned out ok. The doctor said it sounded like Vaso Vagal, which we had never heard of and he really told us very little. He said it may or may not happen again. Your site is the best that I have found. There is not much information out there. This condition seems to be a "grey area". I had a similar spell when I was 13 and in church. No one ever knew what happened to me, but it's never occurred again. I'm worried that it may happen while he's driving a car. Has anyone had the severe neck pain?? The week before, he said his neck had hurt as he was driving home from work, then he got so sleepy, he almost fell asleep at the wheel. We need all the information we can get!
