Actually the cardiologist suggested that my daughter have more salt. He even gave her medication (FLORINEF) that would help her to retain fluids. Mostly what this is all for is to keep the blood pressure elevated to help prevent the faints.

My daughter is 19 and has several test. All are conslusive that it is a vaso vagal neve reflex. She has taken all sorts of medications and combinations of medication to help. Most of them usually just made her either so hyper or so relaxed that the side effects were not tollerable.

You should check into the STRESS factor. It seems that not having too much stress, but the way certain people process their stress can be a key factor in having these episodes. Everyone believed it was more of a physical cause for these spells, so we pursued many avenues over a course of 2 1/2 years. She was fainting at least 3 times a week. But the $25 Copay for a Physcological examination was the best money spent. She has been spell free a while.
