Re: Vaso Vagal Response????

No, I am not having seizures, nor am I suggesting that you are either. You're doctor is right - it probably is only your nerves being pinched. However, in my case, it appears that my body is suffering from a "seizure like" condition - my whole body tenses up and pinches the nerve. To make things less complicated, I tell people that it is a mild siezure, so I don't have to go into the whole explanation.

I too have passed out during bowel movements. Other causes that have brought on the situation - heavy lifting, standing for long periods of time, and intercourse. One interesting note was the fact that I was able to make my heart stop just by holding my breath and bearing down. Now that I have the pacemaker, however, I am no longer able to pass out.

I didn't think I had a severe case either. In fact, I hid this from everyone in my family. It wasn't until I passed out a few times in front of my doctor that I realized how serious this situation was. The problem that I was having was that my heart wasn't going back to normal BP after I passed out. My heart beat would skyrocket to about 130BP once I came too, and the terrible headaches that I was suffering from could have easily become a stroke. This is what really scared me and eventually made me decide to go with the pacemaker. Hope this helps.
