hi im 37 and have had v-v since i was 9 through my experience i found atenolol made me more dizzy. im on propranolol i take between 40mg-120 mg aday and so far ihave not fainted in 2yrs ifeel for your son as at school i had the same but it passed for afew years then came back after my father died , i tryed atenolol,tenomin etc but found propranolol worked better for me iwould not take the zoloft or atenolol and ask for other medication as i ended up in hospital after taking atenolol through my bp dropping so low and ended up having a bad v-v attack iwas on atenolol 5months so i did give it achance etc to work or not and it made me worse i do hope your son find s some form of medication that helps goodluck ...
