Vasovagal episode during Colonoscopy

From: Ron

Comments

I attempted to have a colonoscopy recently. Upon waking from the anesthetic, I exhibited the sweating and paleness of a vasovagal syncope response. I have found that there is a "situational syncope" description that also mentions colonoscopy. Please, is there anyone out there who also believes they have had a vasovagal response during a colonoscopy? I also read that there may be "permanent problems" (ie, brain damage, death) associated with this response during colonoscopy if not handled properly by the gastro MD or an assistant.

Thanks! Ron
