vaso vagal attack

i am trying to fin out more about vaso vagal attacks and have come across your site. I had one of these 2 weeks ago and was rushed into hospital as I was so bad. I had 3 'episodes' in the space of an hour, shortly after waking up. I sweated profusely, had severe stomach cramps, a small Pelvic bleed (my period cam early 3 days later) and went dizzy, but not completely unconcious. I could not stand upright without going dizzy. When at hospital all my tests (blood/urine etc) were normal except my ECG and chest xray showed severe hypotrophy of the heart. I am an athlete, so thought this was OK- only to be told it appears to be HCM. I now have to have an echo shortly to clarify this. Since then I seem to have regular feelings of light headedness (about once a day) with no particular trigger. The worrying thing for me is I travel around the world for work, so if something happens when I am away, treatment may be difficult and explaining to people is difficult. Also as someone who is extremely fit, being told I should not exercise at all is completely mind bending! It seems exercise and HCM/ vaso vagal is pretty un researched so no-one can give much advice- if anyone has any I would be very glad to hear!!
