I was told by ER doctor to sit down or lay down as soon as you feel symptoms. Laying down is preferred. I tried the legs up and it seem to make me worse. I lay on my left side. I have been thru all the tests and I am 40, work and have a 4 year old. I am on Levbid ( anti-spasmodic) once daily and .25mg xanax as needed. I have not had any side effects from the Levbid. Of course the Xanax being a nerve pill will amke you a little tired if you have to take it. I can't let this problem keep me out of work or not being okay to take care of my 4 year old. My problem was procedure induced which must have messed up a vagal nerve in my chest or upper gi, Levibid has kept me from having an episode for over 2 months now. Also I stay well hydrated, make sure I get enough sleep and slightly increased my salt intake. I now only take the Xanax when I have nerve sensations y in my chest area ( has been verified by my doctor that only nerve sensations) to make them go away. My problem was induced by a medical procedure in Feb 2004.
