i am a 26 yr old active female. my first episode occured at the age of 19 when i was out one night. I felt a great earge for liqid then a gush of nausea came over me. my heart rate increased dramatically and i began to feel dizzy and knew i was going to pass out, so asked a friend to grab hold of me. i did collapse and came to as they were carring me out of the venue. i did not think to much of it at the time untill 2 yrs later when the same thing happened. in the months leading up to the second occurrence i was feeling ridiculously fatigued. after the second collapse i sought medical attention as i felt very fatigued and my heart rate was noticibly racing for no reason. my heart specialist believes that it is vaso vagal. my heart rate was measured at soaring up to 160beats per min. any wonder i faint. currently i am medicated and have managed to cut down my dosage of flecanide to 50mg per day, however of late this dosage does not seem to be covering these fluctuations in my heart rate. a nurse measured it last night at 120beats per minute whilst sitting down. how can this just be vaso vagal? my specialist said he feels its unlikely anything to do with the electrics of the heart? what is your opinion??
