I am 40 years old. I have had serious issues with left sinus and teeth. Due to bad root canal I have been on mant antibiotics and now have lost all 5 teeth under my left sinus. Dec 31,2003 I was on augmentin for sinus issue. My 4 year old had had a couple of colds recently that she got over. I work out of mu home. That morning I felt like I was coming down with a cold and started to run a fever. About 1pm I took two advils to reduce the fever. At 2:45pm I left my office for my dining room and started feeling very dizzy and nausead. I made it two my dining room tanle and my ears were ringing and then they went mute and I had tunnel vision. Each time I would try to stand I felt like I would hit the floor. My mom was in my home and I asked her to call 911. I had no pain anywhere but I could see that it wasn't going to pass. Before the EMT's got to my home I tried to stand up and go have a bowel movement, I feel this urge every time I have the episodes. As soos as I stood I lost control of my bladder and bowels. My mom helped me get to my bathroom to get cleaned up before the EMT's arrived. When they arrived I was sitting back in my dining room amd still if I tried to stand I felt like I would pass out. Tey had me place my head between my kness for a few minutes then helped me to my couch so they could check my vitals. Mu glucose was normal but my BP was only 80/50. I was pale white and my heart rate was way down. I was taken to the local hospital and they did EKG, heart & Lung xrays and found nothing wrong and said it had to be the flu and treated me for that. I did have flu like symptoms for 3 more days. Then Feb16,2004 I went to see my ENT. He wanted to look and the bottom of my left sinus and again I was on Augmentin. He proceeded to inject Lidocaine in my left tear duct and my heart started very rapid beats and my arms started to move on their own. He stopped and waited a few minutes and was going to give me more. I told him no, I didn't like what I just went thru and had him look at the sinus withoout any more lidocaine. When I drove home afterwartds it felt like someone had hit my chest bone from inside. The next morning I took advil due to my sinus was irrated from the procedure. Within 5 minutes I felt like I was gojng to hit the floor. I was takem to ER 3 times that week with same problem. Finally the last visti I waa given Levsin to take before I eat, Xanax to calm me and Gas-x after I eat. I checked my vitals while laying down, sitting, and standing and they would increase very noticably when sitting or standing. I had to wear a holter montior for 24 hours and no problems found. Now today I am still having the episodes and stress test, catherization, and upper & lower GI's show no problems at with heart or gastro system. I have had to cut back on amount of coffee/ caffiene I drink but I still have the episodes. I feel scared every day becuase I have to work and this problem has made me live in fear and makes me very careful about what I do day to day. So far it has not happened while driving and I get symptoms so I know when it is happening. Today I take Lexapro ( daily), but tale Levbid, Xananx and Gas-x when I feel the symptoms. When it starts I feel a starnge sensation in my mouth, I feel tiggly all over, I feel a cool or warm rush thru my body which is always followed by gas/cramping in my gastro system. And of course my family doctor tried to blame on acid reflux, panic and anxity attacks. The last two times it has happened I have been sleeping for a couple of hours and wake up with the symptoms. This forum has been a life saver. I left so alone and to find out how many people plus so many small children have this problem. My mother wants me to see an internal medicine doctor but at this pint I feel it would be just a waste of time. I will cut back on coffee, drink plenty of water, gatorade, and increase my salt intake. Can I get feedback on what med's have been used to deter this condition from now sufferes?
