Re: Malignant Vaso Vagal Syncope due to pain

I have always done this while getting an IV or blood pulled. Last November, I had to surgery and the nurses took 6 trys before they got an IV started. Each try was worse. I notice my hands seem to draw up tightly and I feel light-headed. I never pass out totally, just tunnel vision and stars. My surgeon fussed at me for being a baby. In January, I broke my leg. The pain was severe, but I did not have an episode of VV. The new nurses asked me lots of questions and told me I probably have VV. Wow, I am not crazy. She said it is like a "fight or flight" reaction to the pain.
