I just read your article and my son and I went throught he same exact thing. He is now 10 years old and is recently diagnosed with vasovagal syncope. He has been doing this since he was 2 months old. I took him to EVERY hospital and EVERY doctor available (even specialists!!!) his whole life and NO answers -they tried telling me that it was all in my head! Well, I did take him to a PEDIATRIC neurologist and he FINALLY sent me to a PEDIATRIC cardiologist and a Pediatric cardioNeurophysist-they FINALLY diagnosed him after 10 years. He is on NorpaceCR(heart medicine)and is doing fine. WE did find out -each time that he "Fainted"-his heart would almost STOP!! At his tilt table test, he almost went FLAT LINE!!(NO HEART BEAT!!!) His cardiologist said that this was one of the worst cases that she has ever seen in her career!! Its sooo scarey-but I HAVE to let him lead a normal life. I think that he will do fine. They also said that he COULD outgrow this by the time that he is 18 or so. Another thing, the specials said that the prolonged use of NORPACE CR could effect the liver or kidneys!!!
