I am learning about this Vaso-Vagal condition from this forum. I have been suffering from these episodes for the past few years with absolutley no understanding of them, My doctor told me I had a Vaso-Vagal event. (Okay - now what) That was a year ago. I have now had three more episodes with this past Monday putting me out of commission for five days. I am told that it is being triggered by alergies (environmental as well as a serious nut allergy) and maybe a mild stomoch virus. Twice that I can remember have been caused while I had a mild stomach flu. I also get dizzi spells and feel the onset of an episode with strong odors (candle shops - fingernail manacure shops in the mall) The onset of an episode almost always starts with stomoach nassua and then comes the flushed skin - dizziness and KNOWING you are about to check out. The big question is - What treatment or medications are available for us? I have seen a neurologist and have an upcoming GI appointment. What can I expect?
