Norpace CR or Norpace

My son has this and his cardiologist said that if the Norpace CR medicine that he is on doesn't work that maybe a pace maker would. BUT so far the medicine is working fine. NO EPISODES! Have you tried different medicines first? I would. Rather than having to go through that.
