I was recently attending my daughter's soccer game when I became light headed and passed out. I am 44 years old and am being treated for hypertension. After 2 days in the hospital which included a stress test, EKG, CT scan, and heart monitor, I was diagnosed with vaso vagal syncope. I have been prescrbed lopresser (substitute for my previous bp medication) to help control my heart rate (which is normally slow; ~60 resting). I'm a bit concerned about the effect of the lopresser, since it's intent is to slow the heart rate, and mine is already slow. Now that I know about the VV, I can recall previous times of light headedness and cold sweats (never passed out before).
