I was just yesterday diagnosed with Vaso-Vagal Syndrome after almost two years of symptoms getting worse with each episode. I am so relieved to finally know what it is. I was so scared that it was something that was killing me.I will try to explain how the episodes happen with me. It always happens after I have eaten Deli food or Buffet food. 30-45 minutes following eating I begin to feel like i need to go to the bathroom. I then start feeling dizzy, I vomit a lot, and start feeling like I'm going to pass out. I lay down on the floor so that I don't fall, and I pass completely out.Twice I have been taken to the hospital by ambulance and it was thought at first that maybe I was having a heart attack. But my heart is fine.My blood pressure always goes down, I break into a heavy sweat, and I then become cold and clammy. After it's all over, I am totally exhausted and I just want to sleep for hours. I am very thankful that I have a family doctor who didn't give up on me until he found out what it is.
